Mentorship

One mentor, your codebase, and a roadmap you can actually follow.

Every engagement is built around your work. No fixed curriculum, no syntax lessons, no rotating instructors — just the decisions that move you from writing code to owning systems.

The free assessment call

Everything starts with one free 30-minute call.

Nothing is sold before I understand your system. Here's exactly what happens on that call — and what you walk away with, whether or not you ever book a paid session.

01

On the call: we look at your work

Your code, project, or role — not a sales script. You show me what you're building and where it breaks down.

02

On the call: I read your level honestly

I map where you are against what senior roles demand: design, tradeoffs, ownership. An honest read, even when it's uncomfortable.

03

After the call: your written roadmap

Within a day you get a written plan — your path, the gaps, and how many sessions it realistically takes. Paid sessions are optional.

Choose a path

Two tracks — and I help you pick the right one.

Part of the assessment is deciding where you're actually going. Most people land on one of these; some blend the two once the foundations are in place.

Product end to end

Full-Stack Development

For developers who want to own a product end to end, from schema to deployment.

  • An app from scratch to deployment
  • API and database design that survives real clients
  • Auth, background jobs and integrations
  • CI/CD, environments and zero-downtime releases
  • Observability and on-call for what you shipped
Includes full-stack work

AI Engineering

For developers moving into AI who want to build systems, not demos. Full-stack development is part of this track too — an AI feature still needs an app, an API and a deploy around it.

  • RAG systems: chunking, retrieval quality, evaluation
  • Agent development: tools, planning, guardrails
  • Prompts as versioned interfaces
  • Cost, latency and reliability budgets
  • Serving models and vector stores in production
  • The full-stack app around the model: API, UI, deploy
Inside a session

Sixty minutes, shaped around what you need that week.

No two sessions look the same, so I won't pretend there's a fixed minute-by-minute script. We agree at the start on what the hour is for, and it's usually one of these. You always leave with decisions in writing and one concrete next step.

01

Project-based teaching

We build something real together — an app from first commit to deployment, a RAG pipeline, an agent, a service you own. You write the code; I steer the design.

02

Interview simulation

Live system design and technical interview rehearsals, run the way real panels run them, followed by blunt feedback on what would have cost you the offer.

03

Code & architecture review

We open your repository or your diagram and go through it the way I'd review a colleague's: boundaries, failure modes, what breaks at 10x.

04

Reference suggestions

Papers, books, repos and docs picked for the exact gap you have right now — a short, ordered reading list instead of a bookmark folder you never open.

05

Debugging the real thing

Bring the bug, the slow query, the flaky pipeline, the prompt that won't behave. We fix it live and you keep the method.

06

Decisions & next step

Every session ends with decisions written down and one concrete thing to build before we meet again.

What you get

Mentorship is more than the hour we spend together.

Live 1:1 sessions

60 minutes on video with me — screen sharing, whiteboard, and your actual repository open.

Written follow-up

After every session you get notes: decisions we made, what to build next, and what to read.

Code & design reviews

I read your code and your diagrams between sessions and comment where it will hurt in production.

Async questions

On the 5 and 10 session plans you can send questions between sessions and get an answer within a day.

A written roadmap

The gaps, the order to close them, and how many sessions it realistically takes. Yours to keep.

One mentor, full context

No rotating instructors. I remember session one, so session six starts where we left off.

Engagements

Three engagements. All 60-minute sessions.

You never buy blind. The recommendation comes out of the free assessment call, and every session is built around your roadmap. Unused sessions never expire.

Fit

I'd rather say no than take the wrong engagement.

This is for you if

  • You already write code and want to own architecture
  • You have a real project, repo or system we can work on
  • You want honest feedback more than encouragement
  • You can put a few hours a week into the work between sessions

This is not for you if

  • You're looking for a syntax or bootcamp-style curriculum
  • You want someone to write the code for you
  • You need a guaranteed job placement
  • You can't commit time between sessions
Who it's for

Developers who already write code and want to engineer.

Junior Developers

You've learned React, Node, or another stack and want to understand how production software is actually built.

Mid-Level Engineers

You're shipping features but want stronger architecture, system design, and technical decision-making skills.

Senior Engineers

You want mentorship around distributed systems, leadership, AI engineering, and large-scale architecture.

Questions

Before you book.

Is the assessment call really free?

Yes. Thirty minutes, no fee, no obligation. You'll leave with a written roadmap whether or not you book paid sessions.

What should I bring to the call?

Your codebase, a repo, or a clear description of what you're building and where you're stuck. No deck required.

What if we're not a fit?

I'll tell you directly. I'd rather say no than take the wrong engagement — you'll still get honest feedback on the call.

How long is a session and how do we meet?

60 minutes over video, screen sharing throughout. You pick slots that fit your timezone and I confirm within a day.

Can I change the plan later?

Yes. Most people start with a single session or the Growth Plan and extend once the roadmap is clear. Unused sessions never expire.

Do you sign an NDA or work on private code?

Yes to both. I regularly review private repositories and will sign an NDA before the first session if your employer requires it.
